I figure people will likely question my overall health and wonder if I am even fit to run for office. I do believe that the public has a right to know about my overall health. Especially since there is plenty of information to question if I’m stable enough to run. Since I am treated for so many things, there may be concerns and I respect that. Most of my medical team has known about my ambitions for a while and have been very supportive. They haven’t expressed any concerns and have encouraged me to go for it. This is in no way an endorsement.
I am currently being treated for the following conditions:
Generalized Anxiety Disorder (moderate)
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder - ADHD (moderate)
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder – PTSD (moderate)
Adjustment Disorder with disturbance of anxiety and depression (moderate)
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder - OCD (moderate)
Ocular Allergies (severe)
Ocular Dryness (severe)
I am currently prescribed and taking the following medications:
Bupropion – Wellbutrin
Methylphenidate – Ritalin
Loratadine – Claritin
Montelukast – Singulair
Atorvastatin – Lipitor
Albuterol Sulfate – Inhaler
PrEP - Truvada
Therapy – once weekly
Psychiatry – once monthly
GP or APRN – once a quarter (approximate)
Optometry – At least twice a year. Often more. (approximate)
Dental – every 6 months
I typically get my cholesterol/lipid panel and HIV/STD check done once a quarter.
I get everything else checked at least once a year during my physical.
I get drug tested randomly. Not sure when or how often. (Federal requirement for government funded healthcare)
I’m not sure how many people will be bothered by any of this, but at least you have it. I am very meticulous about my maintenance and I'm very aware of my health. Overall, I'm healthy aside from issues mentioned above.
